Chasing my dreams one shot at a time
Here is an (overdue) update on my last few weeks and a little preview of what is coming up:
The most exciting news out of January was that I won my very first professional event! I shot 72-72-72 to win Cactus Tour Event #1 at Club West. This was an awesome way to start out my career. I then finished T-8th at Cactus Tour Event #3, shooting rounds of 74-74-73. Despite playing what felt like far from good golf, I still made money on the week. That is always a positive. All results from Cactus Tour events can be found here: http://www.thecactustour.com/2013results.html This past week I made a quick trip back to Boise. I got in two long days of much needed work with my coach, Paul Weyland. We have accomplished a lot over the last month by sending swing videos back and forth, but sometimes there is no substitute for spending time together on the range and course. I'm really pleased with where my swing is heading and confident that the changes will make a positive difference in my long-term ball striking skills. I am VERY excited to announce my partnership with Haute Shot Golf, a new golf clothing company coming right out of Boise, Idaho. You will see me wearing their unique, stylish (all Made in America!) skirts on the golf course for the upcoming year. On Friday I got to do a photo shoot with Mike Kerby of c308 Marketing and the Haute Shot girls. This was such a fun experience for me. I will share the finished photos as soon they are ready! More good news- I got into the first Symetra Tour event of the year. The tournament will be played Friday through Sunday at Longbow Golf Club, a short 20 minutes from my home here in Mesa. I am so excited to get the Symetra Tour season underway. I plan to prepare for the tourney by playing and practicing out of Longbow for the rest oYou can follow my results here: http://www.symetratour.com/golf/tournaments/symetra/visitmesacom-gateway-classic.aspx Hopefully I will have a picture of me hoisting a giant cardboard check posted by Sunday Night :) I cannot stress enough how lucky I feel to be chasing my dream. I am so grateful to everyone who is supporting me along the way, because as they say, it takes a village.
