Chasing my dreams one shot at a time
There is only one more day left before I begin Stage II of LPGA Qualifying School! I arrived here in Venice, Florida this past Friday. The tournament is being played on the Bobcat and Panther courses at Plantation Country Club. I played practice rounds Friday, Saturday, today, and have one more tomorrow. The tournament begins on Tuesday, October 9th and runs through Friday, October 12th.
There are 157 women in the field, and the top 70 and ties after 4 rounds will advance to Stage III. There is no 36-hole cut. By advancing through Stage I of Q-school last month, I earned status on the Symetra Tour for next year. However, it is not fully exempt status (I do not have first priority into every tournament). Finishing in the top 70 and advancing to Stage III is what will earn me the exempt status on the Symetra Tour. More importantly, advancing to Stage III will also give me a chance to earn status on the LPGA Tour by finishing in the top 20 at that event. Tee times have been posted, and on Tuesday I go at 9:00 AM off #10 on the Bobcat Course. I will play the Bobcat and Panther course two times each. Results from each round of the tournament will be posted on the LPGA website. Thanks to everyone who has sent well wishes! It means a lot to have the support of friends and family.
